Josh and Josie’s wedding at Tennyson’s Garden was a beautiful celebration of love, faith, and joy. From their longtime friendship to the heartfelt details of their special day, every moment reflected their story and the people they cherish most.

Can you share how you met?
It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment we met as we have known each other for a long time through sport, church and school. We were part of the same athletics training group that allowed us to get to know each other more.
How did you decide to take the next step and get engaged? What was that moment like for you both?
Our faith is the foundation of our relationship so we sought assurance from God to take the step to get engaged. Thankfully He provided a very clear sign for both of us! It is our favourite story to share.
When you started planning your wedding, what was the most important aspect you wanted to reflect about your relationship?
Above all, we wanted people to know that the love we have for each other comes from the love that God first showed us. In addition, we wanted our guests to know how much we valued them and their support of us.
Why did you choose Tennyson's Garden (at the Brisbane Golf Club) as the venue for your wedding?
Tennyson’s Garden truly ticked all of our boxes! Everything from the beautiful garden and arbour, the accessibility for all family members, and the location, to the incredible food and service was perfect for our wedding.
How did you incorporate elements of your love story into your wedding at Tennyson's Garden?
We wrote each other personal messages that were read out at the start of the ceremony. We had giant garden games and a word search about our love story because we love board games and puzzles. We both love the Shrek movies - our recessional was ‘I’m a Believer’ and the plant wedding favours were ‘Shrek ears’. We also sang a worship song as part of our ceremony to honour our faith.
Can you describe any special moments during your ceremony or reception? What were the best parts of your day?
We really loved hitting the dance floor with our guests. Also getting to be on the golf course with the beautiful sunset and canapes delivered by Rudy! We just felt spoiled all day.
How did the ambiance of Tennyson's Garden contribute to the feelings and memories you created on your wedding day?
It felt truly magical with the gorgeous fairy lights on the trees and the wonderful chandeliers. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Nothing was too difficult for the staff; they were truly there to serve us and make sure we had a great time.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your journey together and your experience of Tennyson's Garden at the Brisbane Golf Club?
We just cannot speak highly enough of everyone involved and of the venue. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Rudy and the team made us feel so special and at ease with how organised and friendly they are.
